How do you know if you’re ready to hire a Personal Trainer?

Here’s the thing; Personal Trainers aren’t just for the super fit or for pro athletes. It’s not just for people who love exercise.

In fact, most people that hire us here at KW Fitness aren’t trying to get ready for figure competitions or to get 6-pack abs for a perfect Instagram photo; they are here because they want to live better quality lives and they need help and support to get there. They want to be healthier, to lose weight, to move better and feel better.

Here are 4 signs to know that you’re ready for a Personal Trainer:

1) You feel like you have tried everything and failed

If you’ve tried diet after diet and failed, or if you’re super confused about everything that’s out there (keto, low-carb, no carb, high fat, Atkins, Southbeach, Whole- 30, vegetarian, dairy-free, soy-free, etc.), you’re ready for a Personal Trainer.

Food isn’t the enemy here. Find a high quality, well educated Personal Trainer who will help you to get control over your diet and learn how to eat right for a lifetime! A great trainer isn’t going to look for short term, quick fixes. They want you to be successful for the long term.

2) You don’t know what exercises you should be doing

Are you a busy person who doesn’t have hours to spend in a gym? Or are you just not sure what exercises are the most effective for your body?

You may even have spent thousands of dollars on your own exercise equipment, but it has collected dust or has become a coat rack in your basement.

Working with an awesome trainer will help you learn what exercises are safest, most efficient, and most effective. They will help you be to productive and to get the most out of your time and investment.

3) You don’t have the motivation to get it done on your own

This is one of the biggest signs that you need a Personal Trainer. If you can’t motivate yourself to get your butt to the gym, to watch that Jane Fonda or Billy Blanks or Shawn T DVD, or to even to go for a walk around your block, it’s time.

Making set appointments in your schedule each week will guarantee that you’ll show up for your sessions and actually get it done.

Not only that, but exercising consistently will make you more conscious of your choices outside of the gym! It’ll motivate you to get those walks in, to say no to soda and unnecessary sweets, to skip the bread when you go out for dinner, etc.

4) You’re finally ready to start taking care of YOU

If you’re like the majority of our clients here at KW Fitness, you have spent a good chunk of your time taking care of other people. You take care of kids, grandkids, aging parents, etc.

This might not go away, but you’re now ready to invest time and energy into yourself because you know that it’s going to make you an even better, more present parent/grandparent/spouse/child, etc.

If you’re ready to do start taking care of yourself the right way but you’re feeling apprehensive because it’s new to you to put yourself first, you are not alone.

Sometimes making that phone call or reaching out to inquire for more info can be intimidating at first. We hear it all the time.

The first step is always the hardest. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said “‘Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
