Do you know what happens to water at 211 degrees fahrenheit? Besides getting hot, nothing exciting happens.
At 212 degrees though, something amazing happens. Water begins to boil.
Just one degree is the difference between hot water and steam…and steam will power a locomotive!

The margin between being good or being great at something is SO small. Just a little bit of extra effort can make all the difference!
I remember hearing this years ago from a mentor of mine, back when I had my previous business.
For my livelihood, I used to make phone calls with prospects to book appointments.
I will never forget, I was calling people one evening and I had a woman yell at me and tell me to “get a real job”, then she hung up on me.
I was so frustrated, I almost cried, but I decided that I didn’t want to end the night on that call, so I made just one more call.
A lady answered who had previously never picked up the phone, and it just so happened to be Cheryl, the real estate agent.
Cheryl not only set up an appointment with me, but she made a big purchase from me when we met, and sent me home with all of her Bunko girlfriends’ phone #’s and some friends from her church.
Those referrals helped my business take off that year! I still stay in touch with some of those people to this day.
Imagine if I didn’t put in that little extra effort?! ONE DEGREE makes all the difference.
So how can you create the one degree difference in your own life?
When it comes to your health and fitness, what can you do to put in a little bit of extra effort that will make a huge impact?
  • If you’re a walker, can you take one extra lap around your block each time?
  • Can you wake up 15 minutes earlier in the mornings to do some simple body weight exercises (whatever you are capable of doing, of course). How about 10 body weight squats, some mountain climbers (elevated or on the floor), a :30 second plank and some jumping jacks?
  • If you struggle with eating fast food, can you spend 10 minutes before you go to bed, planning what you’re going to eat for lunch the next day?
These suggestions may not seem like much, but imagine if you did these simple things 3-4x per week for an entire year? What would that do for your life?!
I think of my mother in law, Brenda, who had a scary doctor’s appointment about a year ago, where she was told her blood sugars were high and she was pre-diabetic.
Brenda decided to make a change. She decided to simply start walking in the evenings and exercising with a KW Fitness coach just 2x per week for 30 minutes at a time (that’s all she has time for).
Brenda has lost 20 lbs and 22 1/2 inches so far, and has completely transformed her life by just committing to put in a little extra effort.
If one degree can turn hot water into boiling water, powerful enough to move a locomotive, what small habit can you implement that will make a big difference in your life?!
One degree is all it takes.
