“Grow up and drink your coffee black.. Like an adult!”

I know the title may sound a little harsh, but I wanted to quote one of our former trainers.

He said this when one of our clients asked him, during a nutrition orientation, “what should I do about coffee creamer?”

Now, I know what some of you are thinking: “I CAN NOT drink black coffee!! There’s NO WAY.”

Trust me, I was that person.

I always drank my coffee with something added.

Initially, it was cream & sugar, or creamer.

Then, when I found out how absolutely awful creamers are (which I’ll get to later), and I realized that decreasing my sugar intake would help me lose weight and feel better, I drank my coffee with just a little bit of cream or milk.

I eventually “weaned” myself off of the cream and now I’ve been drinking it black for 2+ years! It took time, but now I couldn’t imagine adding anything to my coffee! 


It’s WAY better for you! 

Black coffee is calorie and sugar-free!!

By drinking your coffee black, there are several important nutrients, including Vitamins B2, B3, B5, Magnesium, and Potassium.

Not to mention, it can be your body’s single largest source of antioxidants and you can increase your metabolism by 11%!!

Studies also show that coffee has been proven to reduce the risk of several diseases such as heart disease, depression, type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and several types of cancers!! 

NONE of this applies, however, if you ruin your coffee by adding junk like creamers, sweeteners, cream, and sugar!!!

In fact, it actually reverses these effects and completely defeats the purpose of drinking coffee for the health benefits.


Most coffee creamers are dairy-free, which means they’re not actually “creamers” at all.

If they’re not actually creamers, what is in that stuff?!

Food coloring, Corn Syrup, Partially hydrogenated oils, thickeners (whatever those are?!), and LOADS of sugar.

Do you buy sugar-free??

Those artificial sweeteners are even worse.


Drinking black coffee is the only way to detect the different notes in high-quality coffee.

After just a few weeks, your taste buds will change completely!

Oftentimes, people drink poor quality coffee but water it down with the creamers and sugars to make it bearable.

Now, you can be a coffee expert!!

You owe it to yourself AND your coffee to drink it black.

Do your body a favor and get rid of the “creamers”!

Soon you’ll look back and thank yourself for drinking your coffee black… “like an adult”.

If creamer is your weakness but you want to work on getting rid of it, start by adding less and less creamer each day.

You’ll eventually get to the point where it’s barely there, and you’ll be just fine!!!
